MANILA, Philippines- President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will attend the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in the United States in September, Malacañang announced Wednesday.
During a press conference, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed that Marcos would join other world leaders during the high-level debate, which would start on Sept. 23 in New York City.

The Philippines is one of the original 51 charter members that created the United Nations in 1945.
In 2022, Marcos delivered the country’s national statement during the UNGA high-level general debate, which marked his debut on the world stage as the country’s head of state.
The President then called on UN member states to support the Philippines’ bid for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council, reiterating that the Philippines was "a friend to all and an enemy to none."
In 2023 and 2024, Marcos skipped the UNGA and was instead represented by former Foreign Affairs secretary Enrique Manalo., This news data comes from:http://tme-xe-xcm-sc.gyglfs.com
